I have been into this FBO 20 times in the last 2 years. I fly 300 - 400 hours a year and visit at least 20 airports per year. The experience this FBO provides is pretty rough. I am going to avoid this FBO going forward. The service provided ranges between a D- and C+. The fuel prices are excessive and the ramp rates are stupid. Especially when the line guys come out to great you half the time even though you can see them lounging around the north side of the building. The service is typical of single FBOs at busy airports. It feels like a combination of the DMV and going to the dentist back in the 80s.

There generally is no parking in front of the entrance. My rent car that I ordered was lost last time I showed up and took 15 - 20 minutes to find after listening to people squak through scratchy radios. No one seems to take responsibility for anything so the whole place feels like a knotted fishing string of confused muddle.

Before I continue, the cafe imbedded in the FBO is great. It serves breakfast tacos that are superb and the folks who work there are super nice and hard working.

Back to signature in Midland; the pool of employees who work behind the desk are generally a combination of incompetent, mean, or indifferent. It is typical to stand in front of the desk for 5 minutes before being acknowledged, another 5 for an invoice to be presented followed by another 10 before it gets corrected. It tends to always be screwed up. I walk out to my plane pissed off 75% of the time.

Ramp costs are $75 per night. Fuel prices are $2.00 higher than MDD and over $2.50 higher than Odessa. I don't know why an airport as busy as MAF does not have two FBOs, but I plan to find out.

In the meantime, I will try not to come back to this FBO given the low level of service and feeling of frustration that comes over me every time I have to interact with staff.
